Large Diameter and Impedors for Special Application
We also offer a range of more specialist impedors for a variety of different applications, they include the following:
Impedor Clusters
We offer two different solutions for large diameter impedors, both are known as 'cluster' designs. Impedor clusters offer an economical alternative for pipe diameters over 152mm (6").
Our Quick Change 'Manifold' design offers a 'saddle type' mounting system with standard 22mm or 31mm diameter through flow impedors.(as shown). HF welding of large diameters usually doesn't require the impedor to completely encircle the inside of the pipe so large clusters of two arcs of impedors are positioned close to the top surface of the tube. Individual impedors are mounted to an aluminium manifold that also accommodates cooling water supplies and a clamping system to facilitate securing of the cluster assembly to the customers tow rod or scarfing mandrel.

Quick change manifolds are available for pipe diameters from 3" to 24". Download full details on the range of assemblies as PDF.
A New approach is with EHE's unique Rectangular Impedor clusters, these impedor clusters are mounted on a single stainless rectangular support. Two rectangular impeders are positioned directly above this tube & these carry a large part of the total magnetic flux. Additional impeders are stacked on both sides of the central pair & these are adjustable in height so that they conform to the radius of the tube. The result is that you can use one impedor system to cover a pipe diameter range from 6"-24"! Download full information on part numbers and dimensions as PDF.

Hollow Impedors
Hollow Impedors are specially constructed impedors with a centre hole for a variety of applications such as mounting onto an ID scarfing system, accommodating a central paint lance for ID painting/coating and in-line bright annealing. They are available as either through flow or return flow and can be supplied in the diameter range from 13mm to 76mm with a variety centre hole dimensions.

Integral Mandrel impedors
EHE integral mandrel impedors offer a economical and efficient way of accommodating an ID scarfing or bead rolling system. They have an internal stainless steel mandrel that is threaded and pinned to heavy duty brass hexagonal bushes at each end of the impedor. The bushes have metric female threads to enable the impedor to be 'locked' onto the customers tow rod. Many inside scarfing systems do not allow sufficient space for ferrite so these impedors offer a high efficiency solution for basic ID removal systems. They are available in the diameter range of 13mm to 76mm. For specialised ID scarfing, Superior Technologies Europe recommends Ernst Blissenbach Gmbh who are the world leaders in ID bead removal solutions. You can learn more at www.blissenbach.com
Other Specialised impedors
With more than 25 years experience EHE has solved many welding customer welding problems with unique specialised impedor designs. Some of these are shown below, please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to receive more information on these products.
